I have been dying to share these with you for weeks!

(but I am finally playing catchup...)

My sister-in-law Emily was married a little over 6weeks ago

on a beautiful but rainy Saturday.

She was one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen!

(and her husband isn't too bad as well!)

So what do you do when it rains on your wedding day

when it comes to outdoor portraits?

Well, we at Smith Gallery try to work despite the elements

to give you beautiful portraits no matter what!

But if outdoor portraits with beautiful light and beautiful fall colors

are what you're looking for...

then another option is what we call the 'wear it again' session.

The advantage being - a stress free session,

where none of your guests are waiting for you to finish pictures,

and a chance to get back into your beautiful dress and have some fun.

This wear it again session was such a privilege for me...

I was so impressed by Mr. A...

Not only is he handsome as all get out -

he's polite, sure of himself, and just an all around nice guy.

I had a great time with both Mr. A and his mom as we shot

this session around their family home and property.

(which is absolutely beautiful!)

I absolutely adore little Miss N. - she is such a beauty!

(her red hair is just so so cute -

although as a fellow red head I might be a bit biased)

It's always fun to get to take pictures for friends,

and I am privileged to call Miss N's mama a really good one.

Two years ago, I had the privilege of traveling with a team to Haiti.

This past week I've spent quite a bit of time reflecting on my past trip --

I wrote the following when I returned from the last trip...

"I've been trying to figure out how to describe my time in Haiti.

Life-changing, beautiful, sad, moving.... something.

I just can't seem to put my finger on it.

I only know my heart was stretched and will never be the same."

I still feel just as wordless as I try to describe the amazing,

heart stretching, growing experience Haiti is to both me and my soul.

I cannot wait to return this January.

Readers of the Smith Gallery Journal - meet Dessalines, Haiti...

**I truly wish this picture did justice to the poverty and the need...**

I will be returning in January of this year with another team...

we will be fitting the people of Dessalines with eye glasses,

and helping at both the hospital and orphanage.

Sun damage and poor diet attribute to terrible eye health

for the people we will be serving.

I will be documenting the trip as well --

and will be sharing the images with you all when both I, and the team, return.
